Our Commitment to Privacy
Transcribe Meeting Notes is built with privacy as its foundation. Your voice recordings and transcripts never leave your device. We don't collect, store, or have access to your data.
Data Collection
We collect no personal data. Transcribe operates entirely on your device without requiring an account, internet connection, or any form of data transmission to external servers.
On-Device Processing
All features of Transcribe work locally on your iPhone:
- Voice Recording: Audio is captured and stored only on your device
- Transcription: Speech-to-text processing uses on-device machine learning (WhisperKit)
- Speaker Identification: Speaker diarization runs entirely on-device
- Storage: All transcripts and recordings are saved to your device's local storage
What We Store on Your Device
Transcribe stores the following data locally on your iPhone:
- Audio recordings you create
- Transcribed text from those recordings
- Speaker labels and timestamps
- App preferences and settings
- Purchase status (Pro upgrade)
This data is stored in your app's private container and is not accessible to other apps. You can delete all data at any time through the app's settings or by deleting the app.
Third-Party Services
Transcribe uses the following services:
- Apple App Store: For app distribution and in-app purchases. Apple's privacy policy applies to transactions.
- WhisperKit Model Download: On first use, Transcribe downloads a speech recognition model from Hugging Face. This is a one-time download of approximately 50MB. No personal data is transmitted during this download.
iCloud Sync (Future Feature)
A future version may offer optional iCloud sync. If enabled, your transcripts would sync through your personal iCloud account. This feature would be opt-in, and you would control your iCloud data through Apple's standard privacy controls.
Analytics and Tracking
Transcribe does not include any analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs. We don't know how many times you've opened the app, what you've recorded, or how you use any feature.
Children's Privacy
Transcribe does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The app contains no advertising, social features, or external links that could expose children to inappropriate content.
Data Security
Your data is protected by iOS's built-in security features:
- Data is encrypted at rest using iOS data protection
- Face ID/Touch ID or passcode protects access to your device
- App sandboxing prevents other apps from accessing your recordings
Your Rights
Since we don't collect any data, there's nothing to request, correct, or delete from our servers. You have complete control over your data on your device:
- Delete individual transcripts within the app
- Clear all data from Settings
- Delete the app to remove all associated data
Changes to This Policy
If we update this privacy policy, we'll post the new version here with an updated date. Significant changes will be communicated through the App Store update notes.
